So today has been going surprisingly well. I worked out at 9am and then picked up my juices at 10:3o-ish. I missed the sign up date for the detox (because I’m super put together) so I’m not really following through on the whole following the detox to the letter plan; but Matthew (the owner of Jugofresh and a majorly cool dude) was supportive in me wanting to juice then and there. He said he’d rather take me through it himself, but he helped me decide on 6 juices for the day. I alternated between a green juice and a sweeter fruit based juice throughout the day and will be finishing with a nice cashew milk based treat (that’s the one I’m most excited about because it is the thickest).
So far today I’ve felt great except around 2pm I came home between work and teaching and thought I’d treat myself to 30 minutes of TV time (when I would usually be eating lunch). 2-hours later I awoke just in time to get to yoga class with the marks of a couch pillow smeared across my confused face. But isn’t that what a detox is all about? Listening to your body and allowing it time to restore? Well, I sure gave it that during my 2-hour nap in the middle of a Tuesday.
I was still able to practice power yoga today, though. So that’s a nap well taken if you ask me!
Without further ado allow me to answer my 5 questions!
How Do I Feel? Good for the most part. A little spacey and while I was teaching I found I was feeling a little more irritable, but overall today has been fine. The number of juices has been perfectly laid out so just when I’m getting hungry or exhausted (naps aside) I have one to tide me over until the next one. Feeling good at the end of day 1!
What’s my favorite juice (today)? So far I haven’t been able to drink the one I hope I like best, but I loved one called Spicy Pie that I had earlier in the day. It had apple, lemon, cinnamon and ginger in it. It was a great combination of flavors and really set a good mood for the cleanse!
Worst moment of the day? Well I didn’t really have any juice related crisis that I can identify… I did cry at my boss about being afraid of the future… but honestly I don’t think that can be blamed on a lack of solid foods.
Have I worked out? Proudly – yes! Twice in fact! I took Pilates in the morning as I said I would and then made it to my usual power yoga class at 6pm before teaching my 7:30pm class. Please remember that I did nap; but I think if I’d had a juice right then and there I would have been able to power through the day. Something to keep in mind for tomorrow.
Best moment of the day? Getting through it! I’m very proud of myself so far.
Stay tuned!

I think a nap is very reasonable when you are going through a major detox!
