Silence – By a quiet room.
Nope, it’s not some hip new band with a strange sense of irony – it’s actual silence. For those of you who read these posts regularly you’ll know this is quite the departure from my norm – but the other day I did a 20-minute savasana after a workshop (holler to J Lawner) and I loved it.
While I always adore me some seriously sweet lyrics when I’m zoning out at the end of my practice, I’ve got to hand it those traditionalist, silence goes a long way. I’m not saying that I’m done with my faves like Iron & Wine or Brandi Carlile, but come to my classes and you will “hear” a little more silence at the end of a long sweaty class. There’s something about it that really lets you enjoy the peace around you – and even when a distraction (read cell phone) comes up (goes off) you’ll find that you can quickly return to that place of chill-axation.
Holler for some quiet time!
